In a busy week for Otley Golf Club, a number of people new to the sport enjoyed the ‘Taster’ sessions designed to introduce people to the game. Several sections were involved in team matches and Simon Bradley & Dave Farrington won the Harrogate Union Alliance played at Oakdale. Results of the internal competitions were as follows:-

Weekly Message

Getting towards the start of the season proper! Various events on the course during the next week or so - please check the notice boards and the web site for tee reservations. These events include the Bandits Spring Meeting on Monday - the draw is in the changing room with one more player required, the Rabbits Opening Meeting on Friday and the first matches of the season for the Ladies Weekend and the Bainbridge teams. 
Off the course it is the Quiz Evening in aid of Martin House today - it's now completely full so thanks for all your support. Next Saturday is the Wine Tasting Evening - tickets are being bought but there is room for more - please purchase your ticket from the bar.
A week on Saturday and we look forward to another new introduction to the Social Programme. This will be when we hold the Popular Music Quiz organised by the Rabbits. The sign-up sheet is on the bar - food orders to Tim (buffet from 6.45 - 7.30pm). The Live Act will introduce the format of the evening at 7.35pm and will be an integral part of a varied and entertaining evening which will finish by 10.00pm. All profits raised by the event will be shared between the Ladies and Gent's Captains' Charities.
Advance notice of the next Poker Evening which will take place on Friday 8th June. This is intended to build  on the success of the first such evening last month. Tickets are available from behind the bar and cost £20 each and include food and £15 worth of poker chips.
The list for the Wakefield Exchange on Sunday 13th May is now on the board in the 19th.
