Weekly News - Friday 13th March
Hopefully it's a week of uninterrupted competitions with these including the nine-hole comps on Tuesday and the mid-week stableford on Wednesday. In addition to these it is also the Winter League Semi-Finals this Sunday - tee reserved from 8.32 - 8.56am.
As the competition season approaches, it is a good time to familiarise yourselves with the Competition Rules - /uploads/otley/File/Competition Rules - March 2020.pdf - these are also on the website and on the various notice boards in the clubhouse. It would be useful to remind your friends who 'don't read emails' that in this case it might prove worthwhile.
A reminder that the entry for the F L Dixon Mixed competition closes tomorrow and the draw will be done on Sunday. The Gilbert Myers and the 8-15 Knockout both open for entry today.
We have a couple of clubhouse events this weekend and it's the Quiz next Wednesday. Unlike in previous years, there will be another Quiz evening next month - Wednesday 15th April. This is to compensate for missing the January quiz due to the clubhouse works.
The newly produced Fixtures Booklet can be obtained from the bar. This includes the various competitions from all the sections, along with the team matches, social programme and a lot of other information. What it does not provide are the names and phone numbers of the members as this will infringe on GDPR requirements and is the reason why we had to stop producing the diary in its previous form. The members details can be found on the website - My Golf - Directory.
It's a bit of a sad day today as we say thanks and farewell to Josh Longbottom. Josh joined us a couple of years ago as an apprentice and, as previously explained, the Club's current wages policy allows for five full time greenstaff and a couple of halves e.g. apprentices. This will result in a change in the apprentices on a reasonably regular basis and we intend to make a small presentation to Josh in the 19th at 3.00pm today. This will provide an opportunity for us all to thank Josh and send him on his way with our best wishes - everyone welcome to attend.
Have a great weekend!
