  • The minutes of the first Golf Committee meeting of the new administrative year are on the website - Home - Information - Management Committee - Golf Committee Minutes or click here /uploads/otley/File/Golf Minutes - February 2021.pdf

At the House Committee meeting held yesterday, it was agreed that a members' information bulletin regarding the use/partial use of the clubhouse, initially probably just the toilet facilities and then the gradual availability of the catering and bar facilities will be advised at the appropriate times.

The House Committee also discussed this being an opportune time to paint the men's locker room. It was thought that possibly the best way to progress this might be via a members' working party - it's a big room but limiting numbers will allow for the required social distancing, windows open etc. If any member is willing to put themselves forward for this task, please advise the office.

The Fixtures Booklet for 2021 is now on the website and hard copies will be available when people are able to visit the Golf Club. The booklet contains the comprehensive club competition list, the team matches arranged for the various sections, the social programme and information regarding the H.U. and the Y.U. matches and competition lists along with much more. Visit the website - Home - Information tab and select Fixtures Booklet from the list or click on this link

    Have a good weekend!

Tee Reservations:-

There are a number of tee reservations booked as 'Anon' or in fictitious names.

'Anon' may be used either to reserve the time slot and preserve it as either a two or three ball reservation or, alternatively, 'Anon' may be used to reserve the tee slot whilst arrangements are being made to organise the actual players. If the latter is the case 'Anon' should be replaced by the correct name of the players prior to arrival at the Club.

Using fictitious names instead of 'Anon' is not acceptable. Any fictitious names used in future and which are brought to the attention of the office, will be removed.

Failure to comply with the above risks compromising the Club under the Track & Trace system.

Further to the above, please consider and show courtesy to your fellow members by not reserving any potentially unused tee times. Tee times are at a premium particularly during these short daylight hours.

Course Usage by Walkers/Members of the Public

When we arrive at the scheduled reopening of the course for the purpose of playing golf, I think it is highly likely that we will experience similar situations to that we faced following the end of the previous national lockdowns. It's almost inevitable that a small number of members of the public, who have enjoyed using the course for exercise purposes during the last month, will continue to try and use it. A message will go out on social media and to targeted local media sites advising that the course has reverted to its proper purpose. Some people will not see these messages or realize that this happened - if you encounter members of the public on parts of the course that they shouldn't be on, please courteously point them in the direction of the footpaths.

Course Toilets

When using the course toilets please be careful when leaving the facilities to ensure that the door is closed and the light and taps turned off. This was certainly not the case on Wednesday so your care with these matters is important.

Pro's Online Shop

Steve has used the lockdown to paint the practice bay and to set up an online shop. It's a good site and might well assist with your Christmas shopping. Please visit -
