The seventeenth hole is a tricky, predominantly flat hole that rises steeply just before the front of the green and is often into the wind so take enough club. Go long and there are trees and a grassy bank with out-of-bounds not too far away as well as all the way down the right-hand side. The green itself is protected by deep bunkers on both sides. Miss to the left and face a tricky chip or bunker shot to a green that slopes from left-to-right. Miss to the right and, if you avoid the bunker, you face a steep chip back onto the putting surface. The green itself has some tricky contours meaning a two here is a great result.

Steve Jex - Club President 2022 - 2024:

"Stepping onto the 17th tee you are faced with what appears to be a straightforward, if longish, uphill par 3 guarded at its front by three greenside bunkers. However the first thing you will usually notice is you are playing directly into a prevailing westerly breeze. This means that the narrow 17th green, sloping from front to back, can be a real test to hit and hold. Hit the green and a two is on offer - miss left or right and a bogey beckons!"
