The ninth hole takes you back towards the clubhouse. Out of bounds runs down the left side where it borders the driving range and the left-to-right slope of the fairway generally means your ball ends up on the lower side but this gives a good line in to the green. A bank of trees, which is full of long grass and daffodils in spring, awaits the overhit approach shot. This and the two bunkers which protect the green on the right-hand side and a raised bank on the left, all combine to give you something to think about with your approach shot. The green once again slopes from back to front so leaving yourself an uphill putt to any pin position is wise.
This hole concludes the front nine and a pretty halfway house and on-course facilities providing a welcome resting point especially during our frequent and well supported Open Days. A short walk up the bank to the left takes you back to the clubhouse and car park or following a welcome refill of your drinks bottle from the fountain, the flatter shorter back nine awaits.
